Engineering comes first

EPC stands for Engineering, Procurement and Construction. For a solar project, engineering establishes the system requirements and an appropriate design before equipment is selected. Energy assessment, site conditions and the existing electrical installation help define that design.

From specification to installation

Procurement turns the design into a coordinated equipment and materials scope. Construction brings that scope to site, with installation work organized around the approved design and project requirements.

The scope should explain responsibilities, equipment, installation work and exclusions. A residential system and an industrial installation may follow the same broad sequence while requiring very different levels of detail and coordination.

Commissioning and handover

Testing and commissioning check the installed system before handover. The project should also establish what documentation, operating guidance and ongoing support will be provided.

At KOSP, the proposed sequence is energy assessment, system design, engineering and procurement, installation, testing and commissioning, then operations and maintenance. The final project scope is determined through assessment and agreement.
